The word "trichromatic" refers to the way that humans process color. We have three cone receptors in our eyes, each of which perceives a different color (red, green, or blue). By mixing these three colors, we are able to perceive all the colors in the visible spectrum.

I chose this name for my photography site because I work almost exclusively in color; although black and white images can certainly make powerful statements, I find that it is much easier to shoot in black & white, because you can focus almost exclusively on composition and line. Adding in the element of color makes finding just the right balance in a given shot that much more difficult, but the payoff when you get it right is proportionate to the challenge.

When you purchase a print from Trichromatic Images, it will come matted in a 11x14 archival mat in your choice of colors (although I recommend black or white; the neutral tones of these mats keep the colors in the photographs front and center). The mat will be titled and signed by the artist, and shipped in an acid-free poly bag and supported by an acid-free backing board.

I use Kodak Ultima photo paper exlusively, and make my prints on a Canon Pixma iP8500 printer, which uses 8 tanks of high-quality ink to create photos that are stunning in their detail and vivid colors. These photos are estimated to resist fading under normal conditions for 100 years, even if they're not under the protective glass of a frame.

To hang your photo, you can either attached the included backing board to the mat and hang it on the wall without a frame, or put the mat by itself in any 11x14 frame.
